The Mini could get over it by climbing 3 feet. Was not approaching the fence, but was rather hovering 2 feet from it, about 2 feet below the top. Pushed and held full stick forward. Didn't move. Kept commanding forward to see what would happen. Suddenly, it went full roll left, and would have hit a tree if I hadn't released the stick immediately.
I was wondering if obstacle avoidance would kick in if it detects a moving object like a train approaching at close range that could potentially hit the low flying drone that was hovering to capture the moving train? Luckily, I was a foot or so above the locomotives, but wow, scary. I willI wonder why they didn’t add side obstacle avoidance to the Air as well. I believe the Phantom 4 Pro has obstacle avoidance on all 4 sides, Would’ve liked obstacle avoidance on all 4 of the Air. Any thoughts ? Besides cost ? Maybe they think APAS covers the sides via digital mapping ?The Vision System is constantly scanning for obstacles in front and behind the Mavic Air 2, allowing it to avoid collisions by flying around the obstacle or hovering in front if there is no path around the obstacle. Mavic Air 2 Sensors. The DJI Mavic Air 2 sensors for Forward, Backward and Downward obstacle detection are dual vision sensors on On page 16 at the top under RTH Safety Notices it says: "The aircraft cannot avoid obstructions during RTH when the Forward Vision. System is disabled. Therefore, it is important to set a suitable Failsafe altitude. before each flight. Launch the DJI GO app and enter “Camera” and tap. to set the Failsafe altitude." CE4loj.
