Mirian is the name of Shadow of War's currency, and is the main resource you'll be earning alongside XP as you play through the game. It's purpose is fairly minor during your main playthrough, but
devs have said in a couple of videos that there is only 1 difficulty but the way they designed the game was to allow the player to create their own. so you can take steps to make encounters easier for you or harder. easier: taking enemies out via stealth before the fight, acquiring intel on strengths and weaknesses.
Assuming there's no option in the game menu, delete your saves , then restart Steam in offline mode. Start a NG and, after some autosaves or after you finish the first mission, go online again.
