I’ve played the original Mafia some 15 years ago. Now, while playing the Defunitive Edition, I could recall some key moments only. Of course, the story is exceptional. I think, it won’t make a great difference if you skip the old version and start playing the Definitive Edition. Just enjoy the gameplay, it’s fun!!! All the best.

I think it is quite worth it. While Mafia 2 and 3 have some issues with their gameplay loop, the mechanics surrounding these games are very satisfying. The trilogy also has some of the best writing in gaming, with 3 being my favourite in that regard, especially the supporting cast. The remake’s release is just icing on the cake. I could be wrong, but I don't think that the "dating" mechanic in the games are different. Basically, the definitive edition improved on the graphics. In my opinion the game feels a bit more "alive", I noticed that there were more npc's in the game. The developers also tweaked with some combat and driving mechanics. Mafia 1 is a old game Welcome back guys to another video and in this video we are going to see the comparison between Mafia 1 and Mafia 1 definitive edition. The Definitive Edition of Mafia 1 definitely was less buggy, but, no wonder, as it is a real remake, while the Mafia 2 one is a remaster by a third party.
