Check the amperage going to the starter, if it's really high then you have mechanical resistance ie something messed up internally. Make sure the starter actually gets power first of all, but if you can't even pop start it then you have a bigger issue. Scan for faults and pull the plugs to see what's in the cyls. 2005 Audi A6 no crank no start. 2005 Audi A6 will not start. Lately, since it's been getting colder, my A6 is sluggish starting in the morning. I turn the key and it goes "wooor woor woooor" an dthen it starts and dies right after. I turn it on again, it struggles, then starts fine. Today though is a different story.
Hello all, I have recently purchased a 2007 Q7 3.0tdi from Copart. Since the vehicle has arrived I have been unable to start it. Work carried out so far. I have replaced the battery (Yuasa) as the vehicle would crank but felt slow. Repaired a broken wire under the J17 terminal (blue with yellow trace)
Note that continually trying to crank a car with a damaged starter could cause additional damage to the starter (the flywheel will turn the starter too fast). If you hear a grinding noise when the key turns in the ignition, one of our certified mechanics can inspect and repair the problem.

A4 (B6 Platform) Discussion - Cranks but won't start, plus EPC light - Hi everyone, My '05 A4 1.8t is acting up, and so far two mechanics have failed to diagnose or fix it
If your car is hard to start when warm, you can trace the issue to one or more potential faulty components. For example: Clogged air filter. Corroded or loose battery terminal or cable. Corroded or loose engine ground connection. Vapor lock in the fuel system. Faulty fuel system. Engine control system problems. I know the battery was low at that point but the car was able to crank over at around 170-200rpm. I have since recharged the battery and attempted to start it and the result is the same. Wiring to each injector is ok and the injector coil values are all around 130K ohms. The ECU is getting power on the three main supply wires and the three main xB9BUp.
